Preparing for Labor

If you are expecting your first child, you should begin to adopt the correct lifestyle since about the 35th week of pregnancy. This mean, starting to do standing exercises that make your womb lean forward. This is when the baby “sinks” in your pelvis, and this is the time to lead him into the right position.

If you are expecting your second child, although the baby does not fit into your pelvis until later, yet it is best to keep your back toward the front of your abdomen from the 35th week.

Sometimes women have a lot of pain, very uncomfortable for several days before labor actually begins. It can be very tiring. However, these pains may be due to the fact that the baby is trying to turn from a posterior position. The best way to deal with the pain is trying to rest as much as possible during the night, and during the day remaining upright and active, leaning forward over the pain. Also eating and drinking regularly will maintain your strength. And do not despair. Nature is turning your baby in the best position for birth.

Tips for Pregnant Mom’s

Pregnancy is one of the most special times in a woman’s life. When chosen, it is synonymous of happiness. This is a work in progress with many changes and new situation along the way.

The new mother should not neglect to observe her skin, since it reflects the changes of stress, malaise, fatigue, etc… Care should be widespread, both face and the rest of the body.

An important component of pregnancy is periodically having nice relaxing massages. This healing art has multiple therapeutic effects on skin, nervous system, muscular, skeletal, circulatory, lymphatic, digestive, endocrine and gastrointestinal. During pregnancy, massage has major importance for the remarkable effects it produces.

Because of the effect of touch on the endocrine system, massage facilitates the inhibition of certain stress hormones and releases endorphins – the soothing hormones – such as the oxytocin and the prolactin. The first hormone acts as a neurotransmitter in the brain and it has an important role in orgasm, social recognition, pair bonding, anxiety, trust, love, and maternal behaviors. And most of all, oxytocin facilitates the process of delivery. The prolactin is primarily associated with lactation. The act of a baby suckling the nipples stimulates the production of prolactin, which fills the breast with milk.

How to sleep better during pregnancy:

• Leave some “enemies” out. Alcohol and cigarettes are harmful to the baby and also disrupt sleeping. Enjoy this period as a great opportunity to quit smoking and cut the consumption of alcohol. Also, decrease the ingestion of caffeine.

• Make your room a sacred environment. Your bedroom must be a relaxing space. Try to minimize any possible noise or light at night.

• Your bed is only meant for sleeping and sex. Avoid eating or watching television in bed.
• Do not exercise three or four hours before bedtime. It can interfere with your sleep.

• Establish a regular routine and relaxing bedtime. Eat quietly and in a nice corner of your house. Then do something quiet, like reading or taking a warm bath. Also try to regulate your biological clock going to bed and rising at the same time every day.

• Before going to bed to avoid the nausea take a light snack.

• Avoid heavy meals and spicy foods just before bedtime. They can cause heartburn and indigestion.

  • Sleep on the left side. It helps blood and nutrients to flow more easily to the fetus. You can use a pillow between your legs to feel more comfortable.

Mom Definition

A mom is popularly a term used in reference to a mother. A mother is commonly a biological and female parent. It has different connotations according to the context (social, cultural and religious). Nowadays, with the advances in reproductive technologies, the function of biological motherhood is shared between the one genetic (who provides the ovum) and the one gestational (who carries the pregnancy). The term is often extended to the woman who fulfills the main social role in raising the child; it is in reality defined with precision by the term ”adoptive mother”. Mothers have historically recognized as the one who acknowledge their children in conversation since young and they are more likely than fathers to encourage assimilative and communion -enhancing patterns in their children. Socially, it has been recognized that the way mothers speak to their children favors the understanding of the message and is someway better suited to support them in their efforts to do things. This is however challenging to define the mother as the one fulfilling the primary role in raising children because the social role and experience of motherhood is greatly depending upon location and culture. The fathers have been sometimes given greater prominence and social acceptance in the role of child care in certain areas.
